Department of Life Science, UOS
A department cultivating next-generation
life scientists with international competitiveness
Since its establishment in 1994, our Department of Life Sciences has been consistently striving for high-quality education and research in the field of life sciences.
As a result, we have had 11 competent professors specializing in various biology disciplines (genetics, biochemistry, viral immunology, molecular cellular physiology, cellular signal transduction, neurobiology, structural biology, cell biology, nanobiology, bioinformatics, and molecular immunology)), established various state-of-the-art experimental facilities, and been selected as a Phase 4 Brain Korea 21c (BK21) project team, enhancing our competitiveness in both education and research on the international stage.
Thousands of undergraduate alumni, alongside hundreds of graduate alumni, are passionately dedicated to shaping the future of life sciences. They aspire to become esteemed researchers, healthcare professionals, and leaders in various sectors including health, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and administration. Their collective ambition is to nurture creative talents and drive innovation in life science convergence technologies. Committed to academic excellence, they diligently pursue rigorous studies and groundbreaking research, aiming to become foremost experts in the medical field and beyond.
The Department of Life Sciences moved to the UOS Innovation Complex building completed in 2023 to create better educational and research conditions in an advanced environment. We will continue to make ongoing efforts to secure young and competent professors in state-of-the-art fields and strive to become a department that cultivates next-generation life scientists with international competitiveness. Thank you.
